TRAINING STAYS
-
Sun Hound offers small-scale training stays designed to support dogs through calm, relationship-focused care, enrichment and real-life learning experiences within a home environment.
Rather than a traditional “board and train” model, training stays focus on helping dogs build confidence, routines, engagement and practical life skills through thoughtful handling, adventure, decompression and positive reinforcement-based support.
Dogs staying with Sun Hound become part of everyday life — including beach outings, enrichment activities, relaxed downtime and carefully managed social experiences tailored to the individual dog.
-
Every day looks slightly different depending on the dogs staying, weather conditions and individual needs, however training stays generally include a balance of adventure, enrichment, rest and relaxed home life.
Dogs may enjoy beach walks, decompression outings, enrichment activities, social time, naps in the sun, quiet downtime indoors and relaxed evenings as part of everyday family life.
The goal is to create an environment where dogs feel safe, supported and able to learn naturally within real-life situations and routines.

TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
Sun Hound uses gentle, positive reinforcement-based training methods centred around communication, trust and relationship-building.
The goal is not perfection or rigid obedience, but helping dogs feel safe, supported and capable while building practical real-life skills in a calm environment.
Unlike larger boarding facilities, Sun Hound intentionally keeps numbers small to prioritise thoughtful care, safety and individual attention.
This service is best suited to dogs who thrive in a calm home-style environment and enjoy adventure, enrichment and companionship.
