Holiday Stays
Sun Hound offers small-scale holiday stays designed to feel calm, enriching and home-like. Rather than a traditional kennel environment, dogs staying with Sun Hound become part of everyday life - including beach adventures, enrichment activities, relaxed downtime and family routines.
Each stay is tailored to the individual dog, with a focus on creating a safe, supportive and enjoyable experience while their owners are away.

Dogs may participate in one or two outings per day, depending on their individual needs, energy levels, weather conditions and overall well-being.
Management tools such as long lines may be used where appropriate to help keep dogs safe and comfortable during outings and adventures.

Numbers are intentionally kept small to allow for thoughtful, individualised care and a relaxed home environment.
Sun Hound currently accepts: Up to 3–4 dogs for holiday stays. Multiple dog households from the same home where suitable.
Transport
Transport may be available for dogs travelling from selected areas across Tasmania, including the Hobart and Launceston regions.
Additional transport fees and minimum stay requirements may apply depending on travel distance and availability.
Suitability
Holiday stays are best suited to dogs who:
Are generally comfortable around people and other dogs.
Can settle within a home environment.
Are generally toilet-trained.
Enjoy enrichment, adventure and social interaction.
Can safely integrate into small group care.
Sun Hound may not be suitable for dogs experiencing severe anxiety, aggression or destructive behaviours within a home environment.
Minimum Stay Requirements
A minimum 2-night stay applies for local drop-off bookings.
Longer minimum stay requirements may apply for dogs requiring Tasmania-wide transport.
